Adventure Gently offers Guided tours of the Northwest waterways of Ireland in Canadian Canoes. We welcome small groups, individuals and families. As the name suggests we aim to provide a gentle, enjoyable, safe experience, with lots of excitement to be had along with a sense of achievement.

The Canadian canoe is a safe and stable craft suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels.

The canoes are designed to take two people. Canadian canoeing gives the paddler a fresh perspective on nature, their surroundings and themselves.

This is an environmentally friendly activity where you take nothing but photographs and leave nothing behind but ripples. The Northwest of Ireland has an abundance of unspoiled beautiful natural waterways. We will show and share with you islands and inlets, still waters and the scenic beauty that inspired William Butler Yeats writing of the lake Isle of Innisfree.

While paddling the waterways you will have a chance to spot wildlife, take photographs, land on an island for a picnic and discover ruins and evidence of past times. Come with us and relax, discover and explore the waterways in Leitrim and Sligo. We offer both lake and river trips, which can be half day trips or full day trips.

Escape to the countryside, unwind, relax and have some fun by creating some magical memories in nature. Check out are different trips available below, weather can influence which route we take. All essential equipment is supplied, buoyancy aids, waterproof jackets, canoes, paddles etc.

The River Bonet

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscapes of northwest Ireland. Located in Co. Leitrim in Dromahair. Embark on an enchanting journey down the tranquil waters of the River Bonet. As you glide along the gentle currents, surrounded by lush greenery of the Irish countryside, you'll feel a profound sense of peace and connection with the natural world. The River Bonet flows into Lough Gill, You'll have views of the Sleeping Giant and we may even be able to take a visit to Innisfree Island. While paddling the waterways you will have a chance to spot wildlife, take photographs, learn some canoe strokes, have a picnic and discover ruins and evidence of past times.

Shannon Blueway

The Shannon Blueway is located in Co. Leitrim. On this trip you will have the chance to spot wildlife, take photographs, makes sketches, have a picnic and learn some canoe strokes in Canadian canoes, as you relax and enjoy the tranquility of travelling water.

Lough Gill

Lough Gill is a large lake about 8 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide. Located in Co.Sligo and Co.Leitrim in Ireland. Lough gill has over 20 islands that you can explore, some include Innisfree Island, Beezies Cottage Island and Church Island. All the islands have a unique story.
